My USA Top 10

Hey guys, my name is Ryan and I’ve spent most of my life living in the United States. I want to show you my favorite places across the country. The USA is known for its diversity, from the barren deserts of the Southwest to the Caribbean coast of Puerto Rico. In this blog, I’ll take you on a journey through some of the most beautiful and diverse destinations in the USA.

Hawaiian Island of Kauai

Let’s start off with the Hawaiian island of Kauai. It is the oldest of the Hawaiian islands and is often referred to as the “Garden Island” due to its breathtaking beauty. One of my favorite places on Kauai is the Napali Coast, with its stunning sea cliffs and deep valleys. One of the best ways to experience the Napali Coast is by helicopter, as it offers incredible views of the coastline.

Molokai

Another fascinating Hawaiian island is Molokai. It may be lesser-known, but it boasts incredible scenery, including the tallest sea cliffs in the world. A helicopter flight is also recommended here to fully appreciate the raw beauty of the island.

Alaska

Now let’s head up to Alaska, a land of wilderness and natural wonders. Alaska is home to some of the world’s biggest mountains and glaciers. It is also one of the few places in the USA where you can witness the aurora borealis. One of the most incredible destinations in Alaska is the Aleutian Islands, with their volcanic landscapes and rich history, including World War II invasions.

Puerto Rico

Next, we’ll make our way to Puerto Rico, a US territory located in the Caribbean. Puerto Rico offers tropical landscapes and scenic beaches. San Juan, the capital, is the oldest European-established city in the US. Waterfalls and cliff jumping are popular activities here.

US Virgin Islands

Right next to Puerto Rico are the US Virgin Islands. Comprising around 50 islands, these islands offer stunning Caribbean scenery. St. Croix, St. John, and St. Thomas are the major islands worth exploring.

Lake Tahoe, California

Now let’s head over to California to visit Lake Tahoe, my favorite lake in the USA. It is located on the border of Nevada and California and is known for its crystal-clear waters and stunning blue color. Sand Harbor Beach is a must-visit spot for swimming and paddleboarding.

Yosemite National Park

About a four-hour drive from Lake Tahoe is Yosemite National Park. This park is famous for its massive granite cliffs, clear streams, and powerful waterfalls. Half Dome and Yosemite Falls are among the most iconic features of the park.

Mount Whitney and Alabama Hills

Located about two hours away from Yosemite, Mount Whitney is the highest peak in the lower 48 states. Nearby, the uniquely shaped Alabama Hills offer stunning views of Mount Whitney and the Sierra Nevada mountains.

San Francisco

San Francisco is one of the most beautiful cities in the USA. Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, it offers attractions like the famous Painted Ladies houses, Alcatraz Island, and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge.

Big Sur

Located on the Pacific 101 Highway, Big Sur is known for its scenic drives, seaside cliffs, and misty coastline. Bixby Creek Bridge and McWay Falls are must-see attractions in this area.

Catalina Island

About 20 miles off the coast of Los Angeles, Catalina Island is part of the Channel Island archipelago. It offers beautiful scenery, hiking trails, and the city of Avalon. The westernmost tip of the island is where the famous Apple Mac OS picture was taken.

California Redwoods

The California redwoods are the tallest trees in the world, reaching heights of up to 379 feet. These majestic trees can be found along the northern California coast, with Jedediah Smith Redwood State Park being a popular spot to explore the groves.

Exploring the West Coast and East Coast of the USA

I was amazed by the size of the trees and the magical atmosphere of the forests in California. The fern-covered ground made it feel like being in a Jurassic Park film.

Oregon, one of my favorite states, is home to massive volcanoes, countless waterfalls, and beautiful coastlines. Driving down the 101 coastal highway is a must, with stops at scenic spots like Meyer Beach and the Samuel H Boardman Scenic Corridor.

Continuing up the coast, Cannon Beach is a must-visit location, famous for its Haystack Rock. Washington D.C., the capital city of the U.S, is situated on the Potomac River and home to iconic landmarks like the Washington Monument.

Baltimore, located about an hour’s drive from Washington D.C., has fascinating history, including the Battle of Baltimore during the War of 1812. Atlantic City in New Jersey is known for its casinos, beaches, and boardwalk.

New York City offers a vibrant city experience with its skyscrapers, diverse cultures, and bustling atmosphere. The Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty are iconic landmarks that should not be missed.

New England, comprising Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maine, is a historical region. Boston, the most populous city in New England, is home to prestigious universities like Harvard and MIT.

Martha’s Vineyard, located near Boston, is an idyllic island with beautiful lighthouses and seaside views. Newport in Rhode Island is famous for its coastal mansions, while Mystic in Connecticut is a charming village known for its seaport.

Vermont is a great place to visit during fall, with its stunning autumn colors. Maine, bordering Canada, offers a scenic coastline with lighthouses and lobster shacks. Portland, Maine’s largest city, is known for its historic lighthouse and harbor.

Acadia National Park in Maine is a must-visit for its granite peaks, rocky coasts, and beautiful trees. Lake Placid in New York is a picturesque area that hosted the Winter Olympics. Niagara Falls, possibly the most famous waterfall in the USA, is a breathtaking sight on the US-Canadian border.

The Great Lakes, consisting of five connected lakes, are the largest group of freshwater lakes in the world. Cities like Chicago, located on the shores of Lake Michigan, boast impressive architecture and skyline.
